VoIP Options for Start-Ups

When you’re a start-up company, one of the things you want to do is look like you’re not a start-up company. You want your business to project an image of success and professionalism, even if it’s not always possible in that first shoddy office space you’ve rented.

But there are indeed areas in which you can upgrade your image – and your company’s processes – simply by utilizing the awesome force of technology. We’re talking about VoIP phone services in which you handle your calls through the Internet and not through a traditional phone provider. While it might seem like futuristic technology out of your grasp, we’re here to tell you that VoIP options are indeed viable and may be among the simplest voice systems you’ve ever employed.

VoIP Startup Settings

First, let’s answer this initial question that’s often posed:

How can VoIP be used in these start-up settings?

Let’s take a quick look.

One thing to understand is that VoIP is an entire system of phone use. So think about the way you already use phones in your daily life when it comes to business and you start to realize the implications that a good VoIP system can have on both the way you do things with your start-up, and how much money can be saved if you find a VoIP system with unlimited minutes to the United States.

Once you start thinking in those terms, the advantages of VoIP become apparent.

VoIP Uses in a Startup

These phone systems can be used a number of ways in start-ups, however.

For example, you can use these phone systems to install a toll-free number your clients and customers can call. You can use the VoIP system to manage, via computer, an operating system that allows people who call your phone to hear a menu. This helps you to direct workflow properly, even if you’re still working on the idea of “workflow” as a startup!

Next, let’s look at the various VoIP options start-ups have, some of which we’ve mentioned already. VoIP options and features can include:

  • Toll-free numbers that forward to an automated messaging system.
  • An automated voice system that forwards certain extensions to certain phones and even mobile phones.
  • Unlimited minutes, in certain cases, for flat monthly fees.

Once you get a good look at these features, suddenly VoIP sounds like one of the best options available for handling all of your voice issues at your start-up.
