What is Direct Routing? What does it do?

  • Direct Routing allows you to connect a certified session border controller (SBC) to the Microsoft Phone System service 
  • With this feature you can access, with the Microsoft Teams client, the switched network and other SIP business telephony services 
  • Communications are secure at the signaling (SIP-TLS) and media (SRTP) level

  1. How does the Teams vrs software license work? Is it separate?

 No, there’s only one Teams license. You only need to buy one license for both.

  1. How does the zero-touch provisioning work? Doesn’t someone have to touch the box to plug it in and connect cables?

Yes the physical cable must be connected by someone, but everything can be done remotely. “Zero touch” means no service provider or integrator needs to do the configuration. All you need to do is to connect the box, and turn the power on.
