The Inter-compatibility of Sangoma Hardware (May Webinar Recap)

May 9, 2019 by hwaple

During this month’s Sangoma Reseller Webinar, Mark Carson covered the inter-compatibility of Sangoma Hardware and it’s ease of use. If you missed the webinar, you won’t want to miss out on this quick recap!

Sangoma Reseller Webinar Q&A

Question 1: You have been a distributor of Sangoma for a number of years now, when people are looking at your competition, how do you win with Sangoma? What are the key selling points?

Answer: It’s all managed under one roof, when you sell a complete Sangoma solution there’s no finger pointing because all of the products are owned by us. Giving you and your customers POM (Piece of Mind). Depending on the competition most people are price sensitive, price sensitivity is huge. A Sangoma solution will be equally priced or priced lower than other solutions. It tends to be a very good cost of ownership situation.

Question 2: What is your favorite Phone App that you see most customers get really excited about?

Answer: Call Parking because you can put 2 or 3 park buttons on everyone’s phone and when you have a call you have to get to someone who isn’t at their desk you can park the call for them to and it’s easy for them to pick it up. Hot desking is also popular because people are open space oriented someone working all over these are the two I see that are the most popular.

Question 3: Will VoIP Supply be hosting any on-site training certification courses?

Answer: That’s a great question, If you are interested in attending a training session please send our marketing supervisor an email ([email protected]) so we can gauge interest and find the ideal location!

Mirror Mirror on the wall whose the fairest one of all? Fanvil X7 and X7C IP Phones

May 1, 2019 by Youleidy Vega

Fanvil has announced two new enterprise-grade IP phones up, the X7 and the X7C.

Both devices look very similar and they are both targeted towards the same audience. The enterprise user who can benefit from a large screen display, high-end features, and a sleek, elegant design.

The X7 and X7C have many features in common. Let’s review them.

  • 20 SIP lines
  • 3-way conferencing
  • Hotspot capability
  • HD audio  on the speakerphone and handset
  • Video Codec H.264 for video calls
  • Dual Gigabit ports and integrated PoE
  • Support for EHS headsets
  • A stand with 2 adjustable angles of 40 and 50 degrees
  • Built-in Bluetooth for connecting a Bluetooth headset
  • Wi-Fi connectivity (via Wi-Fi dongle)

Now that we know the features in common, let’s take a look at two features that differentiate the two phones.

X7C VoIP Phone $144.40

The X7C  has a 5” high-resolution display.

X7 VoIP Phone $180.50

The X7 has a 7″ Color touchscreen display.

The second difference between the models is the number of DSS (Direct Station Selection keys) they support.

The X7C supports up to 60 DSS keys with 12 physical buttons.

The X7 can handle up to 127 DSS key entries via the touchscreen display.

Both the X7 and X7C are high-end devices. When choosing  the most attractive option for your business,  key questions to ask would be:

Do I need a touch-screen display? Will it make the job easier and the workday more productive?

How many BLF keys does the position require? If the phone is being used by someone who handles a large call volume and is constantly dialing into various extensions or parking calls, then the X7 may be the better option.

Mitel Proposes an All-Stock Merger with Avaya

April 26, 2019 by Mary Cheney

On April 25th, 2019 Mitel announced that it would be making a bid for their largest competitor Avaya. It is said that financial backers are planning to offer around $20 to $22 per share, valuing Avaya at over $2 billion.

In the age of M&A, it’s always exciting to see how these types of partnerships pan out. Both Mitel and Avaya, in their own right, have a unique product offering and a very loyal following. Only time will tell how their customers feel about this acquisition.

Are you currently a Mitel or Avaya reseller or agent? What are your thoughts on this M&A?
