Is VoIP Cheaper Than a Landline?

January 24, 2019 by Ying-Hui Chen

If you just started thinking about switching to a VoIP system, you may wonder if VoIP is really cheaper than a landline. Let me break it down for you:

Is VoIP Cheaper Than a Landline?

The short answer is yes because instead of using a separate system with additional hardware, VoIP uses what you already have – the Internet connection.

How Is VoIP Cheaper Than a Traditional Landline?

One Single Network for All

Your traditional landline sends communications through an analog private branch exchange (PBX) system while a VoIP system allows you to transfer voice and data via a single network, eliminating the need for multiple service providers. This will cut down your phone bill expenses significantly!

No More Long Distance Calls

Also, since all VoIP phone calls are made through your Internet connection, there will be no long distance call fees. If you are an international business that makes lots of international calls, VoIP can save you a fortune by treating all calls equally with a monthly fee.

Unified Communications (UC)

With VoIP, you will be able to collaborate better with your team, saving time and money. There are many Unified Communications (UC) phone features that will help you improve work efficiency and effectiveness such as auto attendant, find me/ follow me, voicemail to text, shared line, and more. Click here to see more features!

Management and Maintenance

If you choose a hosted service, your service provider will manage and maintain your system and hardware for you, saving you lots of hassle and leaving you more time to focus on your core business! No onsite staff is needed.

Q 1: Is there any news on SMS/MMS?

A: In about 2-3 weeks, we will have some updates on that.

Q 2: Are there any changes to the qualifications as a partner?

A: Yes. Last year, your sales number was measured every quarter, this year, instead of reviewing every quarter, we are going to review your performance every 6 months. The promotion will happen anytime during the 6 months when you reach the partner level goal, but the demotion will only be at the end of the 6 months period.

Q 3: Will we need to recertify on the version 16?

A: Yes, we do need recertification on version 16 to keep people up-to-date.

Q 4: Have there been any upgrades on the Call Center app?

A: Yes, we put in a lot of new features to the web application such as call routing. There are a lot of updates but nothing has been published on our website yet.

Q 5: Is there an estimated time to market for v16? When can we sell it to the customers?

A: December 2019.

Q 6: Where can we download the slides?

A: You can download the presentation deck here.

3 Key Components to Consider When Evaluating IP Phones to Sell with Your VoIP Service

January 15, 2019 by Ying-Hui Chen

Evaluating which VoIP phones to sell with your VoIP service can be a daunting task, especially when there are so many IP phone options available on the market. Which manufacturers or products are best for your customers? Before you jump into making a rash decision, be sure to at least consider these 3 key components:

  1. Product Stability

Product stability is one of the top priorities during any IP phone evaluation. You will want to make sure your customers have a great communication experience without any interruptions or downtime. Check reviews or forums to see what other users are saying about the products you are interested in. Are there any software bugs or issues? How frequently do the issues happen? Have they been solved in a timely manner?

  1. Stellar Support

There’s no 100% guaranteed, for perfect IP phone; so make sure you have a great technical support team to help you solve issues when needed. How does the manufacturer handle technical issues? Is there an easy way for you to contact the support team (via phone, email, webpage, etc.)? Do they offer 24/7 support?

  1. Customer Preference

Last but not least, do your research on your customer base! Whether it’s the location of a button, touchscreens, or the size of the phone, you need to learn what your customers are looking for. The more you understand your customers, the better decision you will make.

These are just some of the most important areas you will want to include in your evaluation process. If you’d like to have more detailed suggestions, contact our VoIP experts at 1-800-398-8647 today to get a free consultation to learn more!
