Did You Know: VoIP Technology Enhances Customer Service?

May 22, 2024 by jstewart

In every business, exceptional customer service is crucial in setting businesses apart across various sectors. With a constant drive for innovation to enhance customer interactions, streamline processes, and boost satisfaction levels, companies are turning to groundbreaking technologies like Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to revolutionize their customer service operations. Have you considered the game-changing potential VoIP holds for your customer service strategies? Let’s delve into the ways VoIP technology is reshaping and elevating the customer service experience.

Seamless Multi-Channel Integration: VoIP technology integrates various communication channels for seamless customer engagements, empowering reps to address inquiries efficiently and achieve faster resolutions. Integrating VoIP with CRM systems provides real-time access to customer information for personalized support.

Benefits:

  • Click to Call: Make calls straight from your CRM system utilizing VoIP technology to seamlessly work out of one program/software.
  • Customer File Management: All customer information is displayed directly in front of you, along with their phone number, you can view any and all other pertinent information retained in your CRM.
  • Call Logs: Have recorded calls, or call logs saved directly to the customer profile.

Many options for VoIP Service Providers integrate with a CRM, here are just a few:

Broadvoice: Integrates with popular CRMs and communication software like Salesforce, Bubble, and b-hive Communicator. VoIP Supply also offers VoIP Products that work with Broadvoice. See that list here.

3CX: Seamlessly integrates with CRMs such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and Zendesk. VoIP Supply also offers VoIP Products that work with 3CX. See that list here.

Sangoma: The Sangoma Connector app integrates Sangoma Business Voice & Business Voice+ solutions with CRM platforms to support click-to-call, inbound screen pops, and call detail tracking features.

Cost-Effective Solutions: Integrating VoIP technology can result in substantial cost savings when compared to traditional phone systems. VoIP’s software-based functionalities hosted in the cloud offer a more efficient and cost-effective solution by eliminating the need for costly hardware and infrastructure. These savings can then be allocated towards improving various aspects of customer service, such as enhancing training programs or expanding support resources, ultimately elevating the overall service quality.

Benefits:

  • Lower Call Rates: For example, instead of paying per minute for international calls through a traditional phone service, VoIP providers often include these calls in their monthly plans or charge significantly lower per-minute rates.
  • Reduced Infrastructure & Maintenance Costs: For example, a company can use its existing internet connection for VoIP calls, avoiding the cost of installing and maintaining additional phone lines.
  • Consolidated Communication Services: For example, a business using VoIP can combine its phone service with video conferencing and team messaging, often included in a unified communications plan.

VoIP Supply offers over 60 brands and all types of VoIP products to fit your business needs. This includes VoIP Phones, VoIP Headsets, Networking Equipment, IP Paging, Video Conferencing Equipment, and much more!

Enhanced Security Features: Ensuring the utmost security in customer service operations is a top priority, and VoIP technology provides cutting-edge security measures to safeguard sensitive customer information. With encryption protocols, secure access controls, and regular software updates, customer data is shielded from unauthorized access and cyber threats, giving customers peace of mind about the security of their interactions.

Benefits:

  • Protection Against Data Breaches: Enhanced security features such as encryption ensure that voice and data communications over VoIP are secure from unauthorized access and interception.
  • Compliance w/ Regulations: Enhanced security features help businesses comply with legal and industry regulations regarding data protection and privacy, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
  • Mitigation of Denial of Service (DoS) Attacks: For example, Intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) can monitor VoIP traffic for unusual patterns indicative of a DoS attack and take automatic actions to block malicious traffic.

VoIP Supply offers a variety of product options from top brands to enhance security. Some of these include:

Fanvil V Series Phones: Fanvil V Series phones support various encryption protocols that secure voice and data transmission, preventing unauthorized access and eavesdropping.

Yealink T5 Series: Yealink T5 Smart Media Phones offer comprehensive security options including, SRTP encryption, TLS encryption, Secure boot, and more!

Patton’s Tone Commander Military-Grade IP Phones: Tone Commander is an experienced manufacturer and designer of highly secure, military-grade VoIP and TSG-6 endpoints for the DoD branches and Civilian Government Agencies.

Adopting VoIP technology goes beyond simply integrating a new communication tool; it involves reshaping customer service into a more efficient, responsive, and customer-focused operation. VoIP Supply is not only here to sell you fantastic products and services, we are here to share with you all the tips and tricks weā€™ve learned along the way, helping you succeed. Hereā€™s the latest from our labā€¦

Fanvil’s i60 series of door phones are renowned for their reliability and advanced features. These devices produce high-quality audio and video communication, are durable for long-term usage, offer secure access control, support various RFID tags including AC002 and AC102, and more. Our team of VoIP Experts recently encountered an issue, resulting in coming up with a resolution that will ensure your configuration and setup process is as easy as possible in the future! We learned of a small glitch that can occur when configuring AC102 RFID Tags. Avoid using commas between last and first names when configuring the AC102 RFID Tag to an i60 series door phone. Also, your device must be running the newest firmware to be able to configure the RFID tags to the i60 series. The AC002 RFID configures normally.

How To: Hard Reset Your Polycom (Poly) VVX Phones

Poly VVX Phones

Need to factory reset your password of your Polycom VVX  phone but having a hard time? Did a service provider lock the phone and you need to redeploy the device? Luckily for you, the experts at VoIP Supply are pros at resolving issues like this for our customers! The following reset sequence applies to all Polycom VVX models. Hereā€™s what you can doā€¦

If your default admin password of ā€œ456ā€ has been changed and you do not know what the new password is, you will need to factory reset the phone. Power cycle the phone, press “Cancel” when the option appears on the display, and during the countdown sequence that follows, simultaneously press and hold the 1, 3, and 5 buttons until you’re prompted to “Enter Password to Reset Settings”.

Here’s where it gets very tricky if you do not have the admin password – you’ll need to enter the complete serial number from the back of the phone and use the “1->Aa” soft key below the display to toggle characters, ensuring all alpha characters are lowercase. For example, if you have the letter “C” in your serial number, you’ll need to press the toggle key until it reads “a->1A” on the display, and hit the “2” button three times to cycle to the C character. Once you have the complete serial number entered, press the “Ok” soft key to perform the reset.

Since the characters that you’re entering on the display are concealed, it may take a couple of attempts to get the serial number entered correctly, but don’t get discouraged – simply cycle power to the phone and try again!

Q&A: What is the Difference Between PoE and Non-PoE Products?

April 24, 2024 by jstewart
PoE Versus Non-PoE VoIP Products

How many different acronyms do we have to remember nowadays? And we also have to know what exactly they mean!? And then we have to choose the right acronym-type product that fits our specific application?! Well, yes. But the experts at VoIP Supply can help! You have probably seen PoE and Non-PoE when referring to networking equipment and weā€™re here to break it all down for you as well as help you choose what you need. This blog post will help you understand the differences and provide a few examples of each.

Whatā€™s the Difference?

The main difference between a Power over Ethernet (PoE) product and a non-PoE product lies in how they receive power.

1. PoE Product:

  • PoE products, such as PoE switches, access points, IP cameras, and VoIP phones, are designed to receive both power and data over a single Ethernet cable. They eliminate the need for separate power cables, simplifying installation and reducing clutter.
  • PoE devices comply with IEEE standards such as 802.3af, 802.3at, or 802.3bt, depending on the power requirements of the device.
  • PoE allows for remote powering of devices, which can be particularly useful for devices installed in locations where power outlets are not readily available.

2. Non-PoE Product:

  • Non-PoE products, on the other hand, require a separate power source to operate.
  • These devices typically rely on traditional power adapters or power outlets for electricity.
  • While non-PoE devices may require additional cabling for power, they may offer higher power capacities than what PoE can deliver, depending on the specific application and power requirements.

Product Examples Includeā€¦

The key distinction between PoE and non-PoE products is the method by which they receive power. PoE products receive power over the Ethernet cable, while non-PoE products require a separate power source. The choice between PoE and non-PoE depends on factors such as installation convenience, power requirements, and the specific needs of the network or application.
