How to Change Configuration on the Poly CS540 VoIP Headset

August 2, 2019 by Ying-Hui Chen

Poly’s headsets are popular for a reason! They are not just versatile for working and jogging, but they are also very comfortable to wear. Many of Poly’s headsets come with multiple wearing styles. Today we are going to take Poly’s CS540 as an example and show you how to configure it to the style you prefer. Let’s get started:

How to Change The Wearing Style on Your CS540 Headsets

The CS540 comes configured for your right ear with a pre-installed small ear tip and medium earloop. You can configure your headset for your left ear, install a different sized ear tip and earloop, or install the headband. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Gently pull the ear tip from the headset. Rotate the earloop down 90°. NOTE You will feel resistance when rotating the earloop down; this is normal.
  2. Remove the earloop from the headset.
  3. To wear the headset on the right ear but with a different size earloop or ear tip, select the size you want and reinstall in reverse order as shown. Be sure the notch in the ear tip faces the microphone.

Are you using one of these Poly headsets? How is your experience? If you’d like to learn more about this headset, check out the user guide on our product page or call one of our VoIP experts at 1-800-398-8647!

New! CompletePBX 5.0.74 Adds Improvements for Call Centers and Hospitality

July 31, 2019 by Ying-Hui Chen

Are your outbound calls always being blocked or ignored? Xorcom has a solution for you to reach your potential customers better! This month’s Xorcom PBX software updates focus on improving your call center performance and hospitality services. Let’s take a quick look:

Random Caller ID for Call Center Outbound Calls

Randomize your caller ID of outbound calls to avoid being blocked or ignored! To set this feature:

  • Prepare a list of caller ID numbers to be used by the outbound route.  Make sure you use caller ID numbers that are allowed to be used with your trunk by the provider.
  • Go to Outbound Routes
  • Make sure Overwrite CID is set to either Always or If not Empty
  • Set Randomized Caller ID to Yes
  • Enter the list of caller ID numbers in Caller List

Additionally, new announcement options are also being added to call center queues (PBX -> Call Center -> Queues).  Callers will now hear a generic or agent-specific announcement when connecting to the agent, for example: “You are now being connected to James Harley, a phone-system specialist”.

Multiple PBX Extensions per Hotel Room

Do you have large suites that require direct dialing to each individual phone?

Now you can assign multiple extensions per hotel room in the Hospitality (Complete Concierge) module!

  • When setting wakeup calls and other room features from the PMS these will be applied to all of the room’s extensions.
  • When having hotel rooms that require more than one phone in the room, but do not require different numbers for those devices,  the configuration is, as in previous versions, by assigning a single extension with multiple devices.

Learn more about Xorcom’s CompletePBX here.

Are these improvements useful for your call center or hotel? What other improvements would you like to see? Share with us!

How to Move a Sangoma PBX Deployment to a New PBX

July 26, 2019 by Ying-Hui Chen

Sometimes things happen, surprises occur, and your original plans don’t work anymore – we get it! If that’s what you are going through with your Sangoma PBX deployment, don’t worry! You can still change it.

Although all of Sangoma’s commercial modules are set for a specific deployment at the time of purchase, nothing is set in stone. Your deployment is locked to a hardware box when you register to a Deployment ID, but you are allowed to reset the hardware lock up to 2 times.

How to Reset Sangoma’s PBX Deployment Hardware Lock

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Login to your portal at https://portal.sangoma.com
  2. Click Products< PBX – List All
  3. Find the deployment that you want to reset the Hardware Lock.
  4. Click on the Pencil Icon on the right hand side to edit the deployment
  5. Click on the License tab at the top of your deployment screen
  6. You should see “Reset Hardware Lock” button now!
  7. Click on the reset hardware lock button and now you can register this Deployment ID on a new system. ( See how to register your PBX for commercial modules here)

Keep in mind that you only have two times to change your hardware lock. If you have reset it more than twice, you will need to contact support at https://support.sangoma.com.

July 23, 2019 by Ying-Hui Chen

Did you miss Netcarrier’s informational webinar today? Don’t worry, here’s the recap! During the webinar. Laura Bella from NetCarrier discussed the services provided by netcarrier including hosted PBX, SD-WAN failover and so more. Their cloud solution is highly scalable with predictable monthly charges. Laura also highlighted their latest promotion which gives you 1 free month of nCloud Contact Center Lite seats on qualifying orders. Contact Joe at [email protected] or 716-531-4316 to take advantage of it!

NetCarrier Webinar Q&A Session

Q: How many site visits do you do for a standard deployment?

A: Usually 3 site visits for the site survey, installation, etc. It depends on how many users you have and whether you need a higher level of deployment support.

Q: Do you use a fax portal for outbound faxing?

A: Yes, we do have electronic fax service you can use to fax out documents. You will get the email through our fax portal.

Q: Why would a customer want Contact Center Enterprise over Contact Center Lite?

A: The Contact Center Lite is designed for small business users who don’t need advanced functions such as the chat function and report but still want functions like receptionist to have a more organized approach for an incoming call. Contact Center Enterprise, on the other hand, offers features such as CRM and the ability to handle the higher call volume.

Q: Where can you deploy services?

A: Anywhere in the USA.

Q: How involved do I need to be in the implementation process?

A: This is up to you, the partner. Some partners like to be part of the whole process; others just want to have a single point of contact.

Q: Is there a mobile-only user for someone that doesn’t need a desk phone?

A: Yes, a lot of customers like real estate agents don’t have a physical office and they can use mobile with no desk phone.

Q: How flexible can you be with pricing?

A: NetCarrier already has built-in promotions. Based on the quantity you have, we make sure the pricing is competitive. If you are looking for additional discounts, we need to understand the competitive situation. We are open to looking into to see if we can offer more for your specific case.

Q: Do you provide support for customer demos?

A: Yes, if you would like us to do a webinar for your potential customers, it’s possible! It depends on how big the deal is, we might be able to do onsite meetings. We are at Philadelphia. Pennsylvania.

Learn more about NetCarrier services on our website! If you have further questions, please contact Joe at [email protected] or 716-531-4316.
