May 3, 2021 by Mary Cheney

There is nothing more frustrating than someone calling you over and over, especially when you are at work trying to stay focused. If you’re using a VoIP phone, then don’t worry! There’s a good chance you can block that number for good!

We get a lot of questions on how to block numbers on Yealink’s T54W IP phone with built-in Bluetooth and WiFi, so we are going to use that for our example, but this ‘how-to’ will actually work on the following Yealink phones as well, the instructions might very a little (VP59 , T58A with Camera , SIP-T58A , SIP-T57W , SIP-T54W , SIP-T53W , SIP-T53 , SIP-T48S , SIP-T46S , SIP-T42S , SIP-T41S , SIP-T40G , SIP-T40P , SIP-T29G , SIP-T27G , SIP-T23G , SIP-T23P , SIP-T21(P) E2 , SIP-T19(P) E2 , SIP-T33P(G) , SIP-T31(P)(G) , SIP-T30(P) , W90 Multi-Cell System , W80 Multi-Cell System , W60P , W53P , W56P , W52P , T54W with DD10K , W41P , W59R , VP530 , SIP-T38G , SIP-T32G , SIP-T28P , CP860 , SIP-T26P , SIP-T22P , SIP-T21P , SIP-T20P , SIP-T19P , SIP VP-T49G , SIP-T48G , SIP-T46G , SIP-T42G , SIP-T27P , SIP-T41P).

4 WiFi 6 Products to Look Out For

April 29, 2021 by Mary Cheney

Like us, you have probably started hearing more and more about WiFi 6 (802.11ax). We wanted to highlight some of the newer products that are out there that were made to work with WiFi 6 networks.

WiFi 6 increases the number of streams to 12, whereas WiFi 5 (802.11ac) limits you to 8. This increase gives you higher connection speed because it gives the device you are trying to connect it to more paths.

Most if not all WiFi 6 devices are compatible with previous generations (WiFi 5 and WiFi 4), in addition you can also purchase a WiFi 6 router and those older devices should have no problem connecting to it.

It’s important to know that as of right now, WiFi 6 requires a specific chipset, there is no software update that you can do to make a device work on WiFi 6. If you are planning to utilize WiFi 6 you will want to make sure the device is made for it.

Here’s a list of products that have eitner been launched or that are coming!

  • AX6000 Tri-Band Orbi Pro WiFi 6 WiFi System: This device will cover up to 6,000 sq. ft. and give you amazing coverage and speed!
  • Nighthawk 6-Stream: This awesome device was designed with video conferencing in mind, you can expect to see combined speeds of up to 10.8Gbps with the Netgear Nighthawk.
  • Grandstream GWN7660 – COMING SOON! This was recently announced in March of 2021, we can’t wait to learn more about it.
  • UniFi 6 Long-Range Access Point: This access point can be mounted in indoor and semi-outdoor environments, it is IP54 rated and can withstand harsh environment conditions!

When do you plan to start upgrading and what devices will you be deploying?

Snom Rolled Out a Standardized 3CX Template

April 26, 2021 by Mary Cheney

Did you hear about the latest announcement from our partners at Snom and 3CX? On April 14th, 2021 they rolled out a standardized template for the 3CX platform. This new template completely eliminates the need for customization and making your deployment of Snom’s D7xx phones that much easier!

As a Titanium Partner for 3CX and Distributor of Snom we couldn’t be more pleased about this! We love seeing our partners work together to create solutions like this for our customers. This new update was implemented and engineered extremely well. They even added an automatic update to 10.1.64.17 to the provisioning process to help make the process even faster!

If you are interested in implementing the new template, follow the steps below!

  • Download Updates from your 3CX portal
  • Navigate to Phone Provisioning > Options
  • Select English (US) for Phone Display Language
  • When English (US) is selected, North American-centric settings make the phone’s behavior more conducive for the North American user

How to Power On Your Advanced Network Device

April 23, 2021 by Mary Cheney

Advanced Network Devices has been in business for over 17 years and they are best known for their IP Display units. They recently launched the new HD IP Display which has so many helpful features such as Hands-Free Talk Back Monitoring, Flashing Indicator, SIP Integration and a 1920 x 720 high resolution full-color HD screen! What’s great about Advanced Network Devices is even if you have some of their legacy products, the new products all boot up the same way, making them easy to use!

So let’s go through the power-on sequence!

  1. You will know pretty quickly if the unit was installed correctly because the device will start looking and try to acquire an IP address within a couple of minutes.
  2. Once the device has located the IP address you will hear a single beep sound, if the device has a display like the new Advanced Network Devices IPCSHD-MB HD IP Display, you will physically see the bootup sequence.
  3. The first screen should appear within seconds
  4. The next screen that will show up will be the firmware version on the device. To ensure you have the most recent version you can sign up for an account on Advanced Network Devices website and then verify through their portal if the device has the latest firmware.
  5. After that, you will be able to see the network MAC address of the devices, this is configured at the factory.
  6. If you see Network INIT, this indicates that the device is looking for a DHPC service among other things. If the device gets stuck in the step that could indicate there might be a network issue. Try checking the cable, switch IPS and DHCP first!
  7. You will then see IP ADDR 10-10-6-142, DHCP assigns this network-specific address. Otherwise, the static address will appear if the device is configured that way.
  8. Lastly, once the bootup has completed the time will display! Note, if you just see a colon on the display, this is an indicator that the device cannot find the time. You will need to check the NTP server settings and check that your internet connection is properly working.

This all goes pretty quickly and you will have the basic display up and running! Then you can start adding all sorts of important information and displays to the device. The new Advanced Network Devices IPCSHD-MB HD IP Display is ideal for schools, hospitals and any building or environment that needs to be able to alert or bring attention to important events or situations.

Advance Network Devices are designed and Made in the USA and are ISO Certified! If you have more questions about their products, leave a comment here or reach out to one of our solutions consultants at 800-398-8647.

ALGO 8198 SIP Speaker and 1198 Satellite Speaker Unboxing

April 21, 2021 by Mary Cheney

Have you considered the benefits of a Satellite Speaker for your next paging solution? Our partners at ALGO have launched two new speakers that provide you with all of the added benefits of a traditional IP Paging solution but with fewer network drops!

The ALGO 8198 IP Speaker and 1198 Satellite Speaker look identical but it’s what’s on the inside that makes these two different (awww cute right?). But what’s really cool is these two speakers work together as a team. IP paging gives you the ability to supervise your speakers, which is really important in any IP paging solution. ALGO designed the 8198 IP Speaker to automatically detect each 1198 Satellite Speaker that you deploy!

This new solution from ALGO can help reduce the number of network cable drops by 75% as well as reduce the amount of time it takes to install them.

Ok, so let’s get to the reason why we are here! Check out this awesome unboxing video with Brian Hyrek.

If you are looking for other compatible products that might be a good add on with these speakers check out the ALGO 1202, ALGO 1203 and the ALGO 1204.
