Q&A: How do I extend the radio coverage of Yealink’s W59R Ruggedized DECT Handsets?

December 8, 2021 by Ying-Hui Chen

Do you have a larger room or office that is in need of wider radio coverage? Great news! Yealink’s W59R handsets are equipped with a repeater mode that can extend your radio coverage of the base station. This feature will give you greater freedom of mobility in large dwellings.

How does it work? All you need to do is to enable the repeater mode and make sure a repeater is registered to your base station. Then all handsets registered to that base station can be used either within the range of the base station or the repeater.

Note that the repeater mode and eco mode+ features cannot be used at the same time.

How to Set Up the Repeater Mode on Yealink’s W59R Ruggedized Handsets

Simply follow these steps to set up the repeater mode:

1. Go to OK > Settings > System Settings > Repeater Mode.

2. Select a desired repeater and press OK.

The handset prompts whether to reboot this base station.

3. Confirm the action.

The base station reboots to make the change take effect. The change is applied to all the handset registered to the base station.
