I’m going to ClueCon, are you?

July 31, 2009 by Garrett Smith

Over the last few weeks you’ve seen a few posts on the VoIP Insider about the upcoming ClueCon Telephony Developers Conference taking place in Chicago next week.

In case you missed those posts and haven’t yet heard of ClueCon, ClueCon is an event that brings together the entire spectrum of Telephony. From TDM circuits to VoIP and everything in between ClueCon has presentations and discussions that cover several open source telephony applications such as Asterisk/Callweaver, OpenSIPS/Kamailio (formerly OpenSER), Bayonne, YATE and FreeSWITCH.

Besides the opportunity to network and meet with some of the best in the open source world, I’m excited to be going to ClueCon because of these sessions:

  • Scalable Media Gateways with FreeSwitch and OpenZap with Nenad Corbic
  • VoIP-enabling GSM with T.R. Misner
  • Open Source Telephony in an Economic Downturn with John Todd
  • Replacing Legacy TDM Voice Platforms with FreeSWITCH for Fun and Profit with David Knell

IN addition, I’m also excited to meet VoIP Insider readers and VoIP Supply customers. So if you’re going to be in attendance, drop me a line and we’ll see about connecting at the event.

Google voice doesn’t get my number

July 29, 2009 by Garrett Smith

We want your Polycom business

July 23, 2009 by Garrett Smith

VoIP Supply is already one of the largest supplier of Polycom phones in North America.

But we’re an ambitious bunch. Why not strive for more?

So we took to the white board recently and started work on a plan for world domination.

Then a funny thing happened. We realized that at the end of the day the best approach was not some big whiz-bang marketing campaign.

It was simply to be honest with our customers: we want your Polycom business.

snom_VoipSupply_2009-07_snom870

Getting into one of snom’s great new 8 series phones just got a lot less expensive.

Earlier this week snom sent notice to its channel partners that they’ve changed the MSRP and street pricing for both the snom 820 and snom 870. These new price points make snom’s top of the line VoIP phones more competitive against similar offerings from the likes of Cisco and Polycom.

Effective immediately, you’ll see the following pricing:

  • snom 820 – MSRP $279, Street $249
  • snom 870 – MSRP $349, Street $319
