How to adjust the wireless range settings on a Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter using Jabra Direct

April 21, 2023 by Tony Monteleone

The Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter is a plug-and-play device that plugs into a USB port on a computer and enables a Bluetooth connection between a laptop or computer and a Jabra device, such as a headset or speakerphone.

When pairing with the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter, the device is identified by the computer operating system as a soundcard and can be used for all audio purposes. If a device is paired with the built-in Bluetooth of a computer, the device is usually recognized by the computer as a headset and can only be used for communication purposes.

The Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter and Jabra device come pre-paired in the box and support plug-and-play functionality, without needing to install separate software drivers on the laptop or computer. The adapter can be used with Jabra headsets and speakerphones, including the Jabra Evolve 75 SE Headset, the Jabra Speak2 75 UC Speakerphone, and more. These adapters come with either USB-C or USB-A connectivity and in Unified Communications (UC) and Microsoft Teams Certified  (MS) variants. Jabra Link Bluetooth adapters, such as the Jabra Link 380c UC, USB-C Adapter and the Jabra Link 380a MS, USB-A Adapter, are also available as separate accessories.

The Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter provides a wireless range of up to 30m/100ft to your computer, with significantly enhanced coverage and fewer dropouts. The Jabra Link is engineered to ensure performance with other systems in wireless connectivity, and longer ranges, as well as to prepare for more advanced functionality with future products.

To adjust the wireless range settings, follow these steps.

  • Make sure you have the latest version of Jabra Direct.
  • Check and ensure that the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter and the Jabra device are turned on and paired.
  • In Jabra Direct, select the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter.
  • Click Device.
  • In Device settings > Headset > Wireless range, select the appropriate setting.
  • To support the maximum specified range between the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter and the Jabra device, set the wireless range to Normal.
  • However, if there are many wireless devices present that could interfere with one another, then set the range to Low or Very low.

Visit VoIP Supply’s Jabra page to learn more about Jabra’s wireless headsets, speakerphones, earbuds, and accessories, or give our VoIP experts a call today at 1-800-398-8647 to find out the best options for you!

How to connect to Wi-Fi on the LINKVIL by Fanvil W611W Portable Wi-Fi Phone

Wi-Fi phones are telecom devices that are equipped with the capability to connect to the internet through a WiFi network. When using these devices, you are able to make phone calls and receive and/or send messages through a WiFi connection.

Wi-Fi calling is a voice service that lets users place and receive calls over the Internet through WLAN (wireless local access network), as opposed to using a cellular signal, so it doesn’t need to rely on the network of cell towers.

Fanvil, a leading global audio and video VoIP device provider, recently announced the launch of a new sub-brand LINKVIL to produce wireless unified communication products. With Wi-Fi phones becoming more popular, Fanvil has recently released a phone specifically designed for the wireless communication needs of a mobile office, the LINKVIL by Fanvil W611W Portable Wi-Fi Phone.

  • Select an available network and click to enter.
  • Select the corresponding Wi-Fi network from the Wi-Fi list, click Connect, and enter the password.
  • After clicking OK, the Wi-Fi connection is successful, and the corresponding Wi-Fi display will show “√”

When the network is not connected, there are several ways to connect to the Wi-Fi:

Wi-Fi Open Unconnected- -> Wi-Fi Off: prompt “Network Disconnect”

How to set up the PC USB Audio Feature on a Poly CCX 600 Phone

April 7, 2023 by Tony Monteleone

The Poly CCX 600 is a top-of-the-line elegantly designed desk phone with a touch-screen and 7-inch display with high-end features that is available as both a SIP Desk Phone and a Microsoft Teams Desk Phone.

The Poly CCX 600 lets you connect your phone to a computer and configure it as an external audio device in USB audio mode.

The PC USB Audio function uses your Poly CCX 600 phone in Microsoft Teams or generic mode as a USB audio device for your PC or Mac. The Poly CCX series has built-in Acoustic Fence and NoiseBlock AI technologies and gives you the flexibility needed for working from home, hot-desking on-site, or quick calls from focus rooms. No software is needed. (Please note that the USB Audio mode requires your phone to be running firmware version 7.2.0 or higher.)

Before you begin, ensure that the phone is plugged into a power source. The phone cannot be powered through a USB cable.

You will also need a USB cable with USB-C on one end and a USB connector that is compatible with your computer on the other end. This may be a USB-A or USB-C connector depending on your computer.

Follow these steps to setup USB Audio:
– Connect the USB-C end to the top USB-C port on your phone
– The lower USB port can be used as a host port for headsets or USB adapters
– Then connect the other end of the USB-C cable to your computer
– When you enter a call on your computer, your Poly CCX phone will appear as an audio option

If you’re looking for more information about this phone, please visit our website or contact one of our VoIP experts at 1-800-398-8647!

Do you have a Poly CCX 600 Phone? Have you successfully set up the PC USB Audio Feature on your Poly CCX 600 Phone? Leave your comments below.
