Where’s the money in wireless VoIP? Manufacturing.

Acme widgets is a leading manufacturer of widgets.

Acme got to the top of the widget world with their nimble nature and great internal communications. This allowed them to make quicker decisions then larger counterparts – a huge deal when making cutting edge widgets.

With all of the success came growth for Acme. With growth came more production lines.

What started out as a manufacturing plant with just one production line and four assemblers has now grown to 3 production lines with 12 assemblers.

You’d think that Acme would be smiling, but they’re not.

Jim is Acme widgets manufacturing supervisor. A a passionate, hands on guy Jim likes to be on the floor ensuring quality and motivating assemblers.

When their was one line and four assemblers there was plenty of time to do this AND spend time at his desk. Unfortunately the growth in operational scope has been tough on Jim.

Jim use to be accessible, quick to respond and react. Now Jim is hard to reach and sometimes hard to find. What use to be a reason for their success is now a reason that issues are starting to pile-up.

And it’s hurting Acme.

Jim needs to be on the floor ensuring quality and motivating assemblers. Jim also needs to be in his office to send and receive critical information. He can’t do both.

Or can he?

If you’ve been reading my series on where the money is in wireless VoIP you know where I am going with this (if not, give it a read).

Jim can be in two places at once. Jim can become accessible again. He can regain his ability to quickly respond and react to information.

This can be done with a wireless VoIP system featuring the QuickPhones wireless VoIP phone.

With a wireless VoIP system featuring the QuickPhones wireless VoIP phones Acme widgets can empower Jim to be on the production floor as much as possible AND give him the ability to send/receive information on-the-fly. Thanks to the mobility provided by wireless VoIP Jim can be in two places at once.

This might be a fictional company, but there are thousands of manufacturing companies around the world in the same position as Acme.

There is money to be made selling wireless VoIP solutions into the manufacturing vertical. Just ask a Jim.

This is part 3 in a multi-part series on where the opportunity and money is in wireless VoIP.
