First Look: Unidata SQ-3000 WiFi VoIP Video Phone

Korean vendor Unidata has just released a new entry into the WiFi VoIP phone market, with a few twists.
The Unidata SQ-3000 is a wireless SIP handsets for WiFi 802.11a/b/g network connectivity. We have done some basic testing with the Unidata SQ-3000 in the lab and have successfully registered with several Asterisk based platforms.
We have not had a chance to test any of the advanced features of the SQ-3000 beyond basic extension-to-extension calling. Look for future coverage of the Unidata SQ-3000 in the coming weeks.
The Unidata SQ-3000 stands out a bit from WiFi VoIP phone offerings from competing manufacturers, in terms of the feature set it promises. A few of these features include:
- Touchscreen navigation interface
- Automatic Roaming between wireless access points.
- Security (WEP (64 /128 bits), WPA-PSK, 802.1x EAP-MD5, EAP-TTLS, PEAP, EAP-TLS, WPA/WPA2 Personal and Enterprise)

- Wideband Audio Support (G.722, G.722.2 (AMR-WB), Speex)

- Full duplex speaker phone with acoustic echo canceller
- Simple HTML browser (Google mobile, customizable multimedia service)
