The AA65, AA305, and AA355 were all introduced and taking the place of the older AA60, AA300, and AA350 SMB appliances. The new appliances will boast a current branding change from Digium with front panel LCD and controls. Here is a nice a look at the new branding and LCD support.

The new appliances also support updated hardware specifications in comparison to the older AA60, AA300, and AA350.

Memory / RAM:
AA60 – 512MB > AA65 – 2GB
AA300 – 1GB > AA305 – 2GB
AA350 – 2GB > AA355 – 2GB

Storage/ HDD:
AA60 – 80GB > AA65 – 80GB
AA300 – 80GB > AA305 – 160GB
AA350 – 80GB >AA355 – 160GB (2x 160GB HDDs in RAID 1 configuration)

The biggest hardware change comes to the AA65 which now comes in a new chassis to provide easy rack-mountability (something that the AA60 lacked). The new chassis also supports an internal power supply (the AA60 had an external lap-top like power supply), and changes have been made to the internal fan positioning to make it easier to install Digium PCI telephony cards. Here is a nice look at the rear of the new chassis:

There are no changes in regards to the SMB software; however all of the new appliances will ship with SMB 4.0 or higher. These appliances cannot be downgraded and will only support SMB software. If you are looking for Switchvox’s SOHO software, Digium will keep the AA60SOHO appliance to satisfy that offering.
